Clearly, the in-between times of life are challenging. They often include a learning curve, a real-life education that prepares us for our future. The in-between can also be where we experience God the most. It's where he gets our attention, which often results in change, maturity, growth, and a deeper faith. Faith is forged in the place of in-between, because in the quiet waiting rooms of life, we can sometimes hear his voice best. The writer of Hebrews tells us that "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (11:1). Faith helps us see with spiritual eyes what we can't see with physical eyes. It's faith that makes the ambiguity of the in-between more certain.
The only place you're going to find peace is in the middle of anxiety. The only place you're going to find real joy is in the middle of problems. And the only place you're going to find real patience is in the middle of waiting.
Ive been in my 'waiting room' for the past 5months and all of this completely represents the change process that happend in my life!!!! Over the 5months Ive clung to the words of Francesca Battistelli's song THE TIME IN BETWEEN bc I knew this waiting room I was in, was just a season in my life. It wasnt going to last forever, it wasnt going to kill me, and it might just might make me stronger, teach me things, and grow my relationship with my Savior if I chose to let it. And it certainly did!!! There is a lot to be said about life's 'waiting rooms' ...everyone will face them. Whether its in between jobs, in between starting something before seeing the results, in between relationships, or as the book states 'in between where you are in life and where you want to be'. Everyone WILL have their own 'waiting rooms'. The important thing is, what do you do with/in them??? :) Gosh, I really LOVE this book! Its crazy how much I can relate it to my life.
