Just read in "In The Eye Of The Storm" about a story from when Max Lucado was younger and him and his dad and his friend went on a fishing trip. They had planned this trip for so long and were SUPER excited about it. But after they got there everything got in their way of fishing. Strong winds. Grey skies. Ice. Sleet. So, trapped inside a camper for three days they starting finding things about each other they didnt like. Max lists on and on these things which are getting on his nerves about his friend and his dad. Then Max writes this (what I wanted to share..what spoke to me soooo much!)
" I learned a hard lesson that week. Not about fishing, but about people.
.....
When those who are called to fish don't fish, they fight. When energy intended to be used outside is used inside, the result is explosive. Instead of casting nets, we cast stones. Instead of being fishers of the lost, we become critics of the saved. Rather than helping the hurting, we hurt the helpers.
.....
When those who are called to fish don't fish, they fight.
When those who are called to fish, fish--they flourish!!
.....
Jesus knew that.
Self was forgotten.
Others were served.
and stress was relieved.
.....
WHEN THOSE WHO ARE CALLED TO FISH DON'T FISH, THEY FIGHT"
wow. If you aren't DOING WHAT GOD CALLED YOU TO DO, expect a fight.
You have no idea how much I needed to hear this.........
"How could THIS be what He called me to do/be and then THIS happen?"
Bc you must go/do/be/OBEY ALLL of what He calls you too........
